Oneda Headlines Bevy of Hopkins Conference Women's XC Awards

LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins freshman Hannah Oneda was named both Centennial Conference Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year after winning the conference championship in Haverford, PA Saturday. The rookie leads a throng of six Blue Jay runners that captured all-conference honors. Oneda won the 6k title in a Hopkins program-record 21:03 to become the first freshman individual champion in the 20-year history of the Centennial Conference meet. She joins Cecilia Furlong (2010) and Laura Paulsen (2008) as the only individual conference champions in program history. Junior Holly Clarke captured her second consecutive first team all-conference honor with a runner-up finish (21:04), while senior Annie Monagle placed fourth to earn her first career first team honor. Sophomore Ashley Murphy and junior Lara Shegoski received their second career all-conference honors, as freshman Sophia Meehan was also named to the second team with an impressive eighth-place finish. The second-ranked Blue Jays return to action on Saturday in Carlisle, PA as they look to win their fifth consecutive NCAA Division III MidEast Regional crown.
