Smith Named Centennial Cross Country Athlete of the Week
LANCASTER, PA – Senior Caroline Smith of the top-ranked Johns Hopkins women’s cross country team has been named the Centennial Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Paul Short Run.
Smith registered a personal best time of 20:38 in the 6k event as the Blue Jays finished 13th overall in the highly competitive Gold Race with 407 points. Hopkins finished ahead of Division I teams Wake Forest, Connecticut, Iona and Maryland, and finished 19 spots ahead of fifth-ranked Williams in the meet.
Hopkins, which is in its seventh-straight week as the top team in the country, returns to action on October 14 as the team will split up and compete in both the Rowan-Inter Regional Invitational and the Pre-National Meet in Elsha, IL.
