BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women’s cross country team tops two more polls, as the Blue Jays were picked number one in both the USTFCCCA Mideast and National Polls. This marks the eighth-straight time the team is tops in the Mideast, and is the fourth time in the past five seasons that it is on top of the National rankings. Last season the team was picked third in the preseason, and went on to win its fourth National Championship, finishing the season ranked number one.
Finishing second behind Hopkins in the Mideast is Elizabethtown, followed by Centennial rivals Dickinson and Haverford. Waynesburg rounds out the top five. In the National Poll, the Jays were followed by Washington (Mo.), MIT, UW-La Crosse and SUNY Geneseo.
The team will open up the 2017 season at the Mustang Stampede on September 1 at 6:00 pm.
