LANCASTER, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's cross country team, winners of two-straight Centennial Conference Championships, was voted to finish second by league coaches in the Centennial Conference Preseason Poll. The Blue Jays received 71 points (including two first-place votes) to edge out Haverford for the second spot.

Dickinson was selected as the favorite to win the conference, piling up 77 points and five first-place votes. Rounding out the poll were Gettysburg (53), Franklin & Marshall (44), Swarthmore (44), Muhlenberg (40), Ursinus (22), McDaniel (19) and Bryn Mawr (10).

Under the guidance of head coach Bobby Van Allen, Hopkins finished 2009 with a program-best seventh place finish at the NCAA Championships. The Blue Jays open the year on September 3 at the Baltimore Metro Invitational in Timonium, MD.
