Johns Hopkins Wins Back-to-Back Conference Championships

BALTIMORE, MD- The second-ranked Johns Hopkins women's cross country team won the Centennial Conference championship with five runners finishing in the top ten. Senior Laura Paulsen finished second with a time of 22:47.74. This is the second consecutive year the Blue Jay women have won the conference cross country championship. Johns Hopkins finished with a total of 26 points, their lowest total ever in a Centennial Conference championship. The Blue Jays captured the second through fourth spots in the meet. Paulson finished second (22:47.74). Sophomore Cecilia Furlong finished third (23:04.11) followed just four seconds later by senior Mira Patel (23:08.51). Junior Liz Provost finished seventh (23:23.83) and senior Nadia McMillan finished tenth (23:52.34). Haverford's Emily Lipman finished first overall (22:40.66) on a muddy track at Gettysburg. Paulsen, Furlong, Patel and Provost will be first team selections on the All-Centennial team. McMillan and Mary O'Grady (11th, 24:05.52) will be second team selections for their finishes at the conference championships. The Blue Jays return to action on November 14 at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships.
