Hopkins Finishes Second at Lewis and Clark Pioneer Open

ESTACADA, OR - The Johns Hopkins women's cross-country team finished second at the Lewis and Clark Pioneer Open on Saturday. The Blue Jays placed four runners in the top twenty on Saturday.
Puget Sound won the team title followed by Hopkins while Carleton was third. Lewis and Clark finished fourth while their alumni were fifth. The individual title went to Emily Timmer of Puget Sound who completed the course in 21:24.
Sophomore Laura Paulsen (Lutherville, MD/Bryn Mawr) was the first Blue Jay to cross the line as she finished third with a time of 22:07. Junior Rachel Hogen (Tarzana, CA/Harvard Westlake) was 12th completing the course in 23:08 while sophomore Mary O'Grady (Anchorage, AK/South Anchorage) was 16th with a time of 23:17. Sophomore Mira Patel (Moraga, CA/Campolindo) completed the course in 23:28 to finish 19th on the day. Senior Angela Kaon (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) and junior Emma Hiza (Nottingham, NH/Phillips Exeter Academy) rounded out the Blue Jays in the top twenty five. Kaon finished 23rd with a time of 23:57 while Hiza was 24th also with a time of 23:57.
Hopkins is back in action on October 27 at the Centennial Conference Championship. Race time in Lancaster, PA is set for 11:00 a.m.
