Top Ranked Hopkins Finishes 13th at Paul Short Run

• Score: Johns Hopkins 13 of 42 teams (407 points)
• Location: Bethlehem, PA (Lehigh University, Goodman Cross Country Course)
• The Short Story: The number-one ranked Johns Hopkins women's cross country team finished 13th out of 42 teams in the Paul Short Run on Friday morning. The Blue Jays ran in the Gold Race which featured top-ranked teams from all three divisions, as JHU finished ahead of Division I teams such as Wake Forest, Iona, Maryland and Navy, and finished 19 spots ahead of Williams, who is currently the fifth-ranked team in Division III.

How it Happened
Caroline Smith led the Blue Jays as she finished 33rd overall with a time of 20:38, which is a personal best time.
Ellie Clawson finished the 6k race in 20:41 which was good enough for 38th place. The time is also a personal best for Clawson.
• Sophomore Rebecca Grusby was the third finisher for JHU as she crossed the finish line in 21:06.
• Finishing fourth and fifth for Hopkins were Tasha Freed and Therese Olshanski, who completed the race with marks of 21:29 and 21:36 respectively.
• Rounding out the top-seven for Johns Hopkins were Kristin Meek and Shaina Palmer who finished the 6k meet in times of 22:02 and 22:18.

• The Blue Jays return to the track on October 14 as some runners will take part in the Pre-Nationals in Elsha, IL while others will head to the Rowan Inter-Regional Invitational.
