Senior Amanda Lewis (San Antonio, TX/ St. Mary's Hall), senior Kim Jackanich (Pacifica, CA/St. Ignatius College Prep) and junior Alex Zenoff (San Francisco, CA/San Francisco University HS) of the Johns Hopkins volleyball team each received All-Centennial Conference honors on Tuesday as announced by the Centennial Conference office.
Lewis, a first team selection in 2007 and an honorable mention in 2006, was again named All-Centennial first team after a record-breaking season. The senior led the team in digs (2.76 dps) and assists (8.08 aps). In the Centennial Conference semifinals against Haverford, Lewis recorded 38 assists to break the Centennial Conference career assist record, setting the new standard at 4,712. The senior broke the record in 405 career sets, eight less than the previous record holder (Emily Hinchcliff, Haverford, 3,888 career assists, 413 sets). In September, Lewis received all-tournament honors in the Battlefield Classic as well as the JHU Invitational for her exceptional play. The senior tallied 15 double-doubles and three triple-doubles on the season.
Zenoff was named All-Centennial Second Team, the first all-conference honor of her career. Zenoff finished her junior season with a .303 hitting percentage. She registered double-digit kills in nine matches this season. She also had 50 blocks on the year. Zenoff led the team in kills with 225 on the season (2.21kps).
Jackanich received an All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention nod. The senior co-captain averaged 1.43 kills and 2.68 digs per set for the Blue Jays. Jackanich was chosen for the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team. The senior has a 3.85 GPA in addition to her contributions on the court. The Pacifica, CA native was a First Team All-Centennial selection and a 2007 Mid-Atlantic AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention as well as an all-conference honorable mention.
With three earning all-conference honors in 2008, Johns Hopkins has 44 All-Centennial selections all-time.
