Rhead Named Centennial Volleyball Player of the Week
LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins sophomore setter Kristi Rhead was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week Monday afternoon following her performances in the Blue Jays' four matches last week.
Rhead filled the stat sheet, leading Hopkins to three wins in four matches. The sophomore averaged 8.87 assists/set and 3.47 digs/set this week and also added 11 service aces and six blocks. Her best match of the week came in a four-set victory over Gettysburg when she totaled a career-high 41 assists, 14 digs, and four blocks. Rhead's performances in the four matches were critical as the wins helped the Blue Jays earn a share of first place and the right to host the 2015 Centennial Conference Tournament.
This is the first-career weekly award for the Morgan, UT native.
Rhead and the Blue Jays will back in action Saturday as they host the Centennial Conference Tournament. Hopkins will play Saturday at 1:00 pm in the semifinals against the winner of Wednesday's McDaniel vs. Franklin & Marshall first-round matchup.
