LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins sophomore outside hitter Allison Cappelaere (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) was named the Centennial Conference Co-Volleyball Player of the Week on Tuesday. Cappelaere shares the weekly honors with Katie Seibel of McDaniel College. It is the first time in her career that Cappelaere earned player of the week honors.

Cappelaere had a couple of big matches for the Blue Jays as they swept a pair last week. Against Washington, she posted 11 kills and nine digs. Cappelaere also had three service aces and three block assists against the Shorewomen. On Saturday against Bryn Mawr, she contributed 16 kills and eight digs, hitting .625 for the match. For the week Cappelaere collected 27 kills (4.50 kills per game), hit .393 (27k, 5e, 56att), had four service aces, 17 digs (2.83 digs per game) and three block assists in two matches last week.

Cappelaere and the Blue Jays return to action on Wednesday, October 24 against McDaniel College. Match time is set for 7 p.m. in Goldfarb Gymnasium.
