Final Stats

NEW PALTZ, NY - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team defeated New Jersey City, 3-0, in the second game of the New Paltz Tournament. The Blue Jays improve to, 7-2, while the Gothic Knights fall to, 3-5.

The Blue Jays were led by Freshman Kate Flewelling (Altadena, CA) and Amelia Thomas (Baltimore, MD), who both recorded career-highs in kills. Flewelling posted 11 while Thomas tallied six. Becky Paynter (Columbia, MD) dished out 21 assists and Kristen Kozielski (Columbia, MD) added nine. Senior Katie Buckheit (Fairfax, VA) posted a team-high 10 digs.

SUNY New Paltz defeated John Hopkins, 3-1, in the opening game of the New Paltz Tournament. The Hawks improved to 7-4, while the Blue Jays fell to 6-2.

Allison Cappelaere (Ellicott City, MD) led the Blue Jays with 18 kills, while Sarah Feicht (Austin, TX) and Alex Zenoff (San Francisco, CA) each added 12 kills. Paynter (Columbia, MD) registered 37 assists, and Rhea Alexander (Roseville, CA) and KC Stingl (Mission Viejo, CA) recorded 11 digs a piece.


 

 

The Blue Jays return to the court at noon tomorrow to face Rutgers-Newark.
