John is originally from the south side of Chicago, and started playing volleyball at Brother Rice High School in Chicago in 1998 and won two regional championships. He enlisted in the US Air Force as a cryptologic linguist. During his time in the service, he was selected to play volleyball with the All-Air Force team, and traveled around the world playing volleyball against top tier competition. He has coached clinics in California, Illinois and Maryland, but started a full time coaching role when he was stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland. He coached with Maryland Juniors for two years, and coached at Reservoir High School in Fulton, MD one year and Marshall High School an assistant varsity coach. John is currently attending Stevenson University. |
