Van Allen Mideast Coach of the Year, 13 Jays Earn All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Johns Hopkins women’s track team was well represented on the 2016 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Mideast Region Track Team that was recently announced. The Blue Jays placed 13 individuals on the team in 18 spots and nine different events and head coach Bobby Van Allen was selected as the Mideast Region Coach of the Year.

Van Allen guided the Blue Jays to a seventh consecutive Centennial Conference title and has three of his team members qualified for this week’s NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top five of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top three relay team.

Jordan Delane – Sr. (10,000)
Maya Hammonds – Fr. (High Jump)
Felicia Koerner – Fr. (5,000)
Paige Marsh - Sr. (Heptathlon)
Megan McDonald – Sr. (400 - 400 hurdles - 4-x400 relay)
Tess Meehan – Jr. (5,000 – 10,000)
Hannah Miller – Fr. (400 hurles)
Emily Nordquist – Sr. (4x400 relay)
Hannah Oneda – Sr. (5,000 – 10,000)
Caroline Smith – So. (1,500)
Jenn Su – So. (Long Jump, Heptathlon)
Mary Kate Wallace – Sr. (4x400 relay)
