BALTIMORE, MD - Senior Laura Paulsen (Lutherville, MD/Bryn Mawr) of the Johns Hopkins women's indoor track and field team was named the NCAA Mideast Region Track Runner of the Year by the USTFCCCA. Paulsen will receive her award at a banquet Thursday evening at Greencastle, Ind., site of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend.

Paulsen is scheduled to compete in the mile and the 5,000 meter run at this weekend's NCAA Division III Championships. Paulsen is ranked third among declared competitors in the mile with a season-best converted time of 4:54.80.

Paulsen is the 2010 Centennial Conference indoor champion in the 5,000 meter run, in which she has a converted best time of 17:15.60.

Paulsen will be competing in the NCAA Championships this weekend hosted by DePauw University.
