LANCASTER, PA – Sophia Cortazzo of the Johns Hopkins women's track & field team has been named the Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Week for her record breaking performance in the pole vault event at the Keogh Invitational on Saturday.

Cortazzo once again broke the school record in the pole vault event as the sophomore from Warren, NJ cleared 3.45m to win the event. The mark broke the previous school record of 3.40m which she set on February 8 at the Sweetheart Multi-Mix Madness. Cortazzo also cleared 3.35m earlier in the season which now ranks tied for fourth all-time.

Cortazzo and the rest of the Blue Jays will be back in action on Saturday, February 24  for day one action of the Centennial Conference Championships, which will be held on the campus of Ursinus College.
