LANCASTER, PA - Senior Laura Paulsen (Lutherville, MD/Bryn Mawr) was named the Centennial Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week of January 12. The indoor track and field team participated in the Metro Coaches Invitational in New York on Friday, January 8.
Paulsen was the top collegiate runner in the women's mile with a time of 5:05, just missing the national qualifying time by less than a second. Paulsen also ran the final leg of the women's distance medley in which Hopkins, with a time of 12:33.04, edged out New York University by five seconds to finish first in an exciting race.
The indoor track & field team returns to action on January 16 when they compete in the Terrapin Invitational at Maryland.
