The Johns Hopkins women's track & field benefited from the best women's cross country season in JHU program history by dominating the women's 3,000 meter run at the Ursinus Winter Track Classic. Junior Laura Paulsen, echoing her performances of the fall, finished first in the event with a time of 10:20.52.
Junior Mira Patel crossed the line just behind Paulsen for second place in 10:31.47. Senior Emma Hiza finished in third place in 10:39.39.
In the one-mile run, senior Rachel Hogen finished fourth with a time of 5:22.00. Freshman Cecilia Furlong finished sixth in the mile at 5:28.26 in the first indoor meet of her career. Junior Mary O'Grady placed seventh in a time of 5:33.58.
Paula Osborn finished second in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:00.12.
The Blue Jays return to action on January 8 at the Metropolitan Season Opener at the New York Armory.
