TRENTON, NJ - Cecilia Furlong of the women's track and field team finished third in the 3k steeplechase at the Lions Last Chance Meet hosted by The College of New Jersey. Furlong ran a time of 11:00.82.

She was unable to advance on the national list so will have to wait and see if her time of 10:58.20 from the Maryland Twilight Meet will be fast enough for her to compete at the NCAA Championships.

Furlong took the lead at the one mile mark and started to put some distance between her and the rest of the field. On the 6th water jump, however, Furlong went down and enabled Megan VanDenHengel (Elizabethtown) and Jenna Peacock (Rowan) to catch up to her and ultimately out-kick her over the last 100m.
