PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team competed at the Penn Relays on Thursday evening in Philadelphia. The Blue Jays competed in the 10,000-meter run and the 4x400 relay involving teams from the Centennial and MAC conferences.

Freshman Laura Paulsen broke the school record in the 10,000-meters as she crossed the line with a time of 36:28.98. Paulsen finished 11th in the race as eight of the top ten finishers were from Division I schools. Marisa Ryan of Boston University, who finished in 34:11.32, won the race.

The 4x400 relay team of Paula Osborn, Viann Nguyen, Mira Patel and Jordan Ireton finished sixth in their event. The relay team crossed the line with a time of 4:14.70. The event was won by the team from Haverford that finished in 3:59.64.

Hopkins returns to action on April 28th at the Shippensburg Invitational.
