ALLENTOWN, PA - Chantel Priolo won the discus throw as the Johns Hopkins women's track and field team competed at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Jays won three different events in the meet.
Priolo recorded a 35.29m in the discus throw to win the event and qualify for the ECAC Championship in the process. She also took fifth in the javelin throw with a toss of 33.48m.
Krystina Laucik took fifth in the discus throw with a 32.45m and fourth in the shot put with a 10.10m. Becky Lossing finished sixth in the long jump with a final leap of 4.71m. Teammates Jessica Reeves and Logan Ashcraft claimed fourth and fifth place in the pole vault. Reeves recorded a 2.85 while Ashcraft posted a 2.70m.
Lossing also won the high jump by recording a 1.47m. Anita Mikkilineni placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.29 and qualified for the ECAC's. Paula Osborn placed second in the 100-meter dash after placing first in the preliminaries. Osborn ran a 12.71 in the finals and qualified for the ECAC's. She also took second in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 26.30, an ECAC qualifying mark.
Jordan Ireton took third in the 400-meter dash. She posted a time of 1:01.43. Mikkilineni placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.93.
The 4x100 relay team recorded a 53.26 to take fourth place in their event. The 4x400 relay team posted a time of 4:15.27 to win their event.
The Blue Jays will be back in action on April 18 at the Widener Invitational.
