COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's indoor track and field team finished tied for eighth out of 10 schools at the 2003 Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday and Sunday.

The Blue Jays totaled 24 points to finish tied with Franklin & Marshall and 12 points behind Swarthmore for seventh place. Dickinson won its sixth Centennial title with 144 points to edge Gettysburg, which was second with 134.5 points. McDaniel was third with 94 points, Haverford was fourth with 75.5 points and Muhlenberg placed fifth with 72 points.

Freshmen Joanna Cohen (Roslyn, NY/Roslyn) and Ilolochika Emuh (Highland, CA/Redlands) were the top two performers for Hopkins at the championships. Cohen finished fourth in the long jump and earned five points with a mark of 15'9.75". She also placed eighth in the 55-meter dash at a 7.95 pace to gain one point.

Emuh won the 55-meter hurdles and set the school record with a time of 8.77. She earned 10 points and broke her record of 9.09 set at the Ursinus Invitational on February 8. Emuh was also ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.73, her best of the season.

Senior Jackie Evans (State College, PA/State College) recorded one point in the shot put as she finished eighth with a mark of 33'3.75".

The 4x200 relay team set a school record and placed fifth with a time of 1:54.92. The previous record was 1:55.80 set during the 2002 season.
