Delane, Koerner Lead Blue Jays at Frank Colden Invite
COLLEGEVILLE, PA- The Johns Hopkins women’s indoor track & field team competed at the Frank Colden Invitational Saturday. The event was hosted by Ursinus College at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center.
The Blue Jays won the team title in the 18-team event, routing their competition in the process. Hopkins finished with 187 points, 73.5 more than second-place Wesley. Stockton (71.5), Pitt-Johnstown (52) and Coppin State (46) finished, third through fifth, respectively.
Two distance runners led the way for the Blue Jays taking home a pair of first-place finishes. Jordan Delane won the 3000m run in 10:04.70, while Felicia Koerner crossed the finish line first in the one mile run, doing so in 5:12.20. Koerner edged out a pair of teammates, Tess Meehan (second, 5:12.65) and Erin Brush (third, 5:15.54).
JHU ran one through four in the 5000m run, led by Veronica Boswell who finished in 19:14.93. Boswell was followed across the finish line by teammates Lara Gaffney (second, 19:27.59), Bridget Gottlieb (third, 19:33.81) and Julia Chang (fourth, 19:38.10)
In the field events, Jaynie Criscione was Hopkins’ top performer. The freshman won the high jump with a 1.55m leap.
