LANCASTER, PA - Freshman Carolyn Warren (Boulder, CO/Fairview) beat classmate Mallory Willenborg (Miami Shores, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) in the finals of the Franklin & Marshall Invitational in three sets.

Warren opened the invitational with a straight sets win over Joelle Nitzberg of Dickinson. She then beat Katie Taylor of Gettysburg, 6-2, 6-0. In the third round, she faced off against Carly Rotfeld of Muhlenberg and won 6-1, 6-1. In the semis, Warren defeated Jenn Powell of Muhlenberg 6-4, 6-2. In the finals, Willenborg won the first set 6-2, but Warren rallied to win the second (7-5) and third (6-1) to take the match.

Willenborg opened with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Karen Ginsberg of Bryn Mawr 6-0, 6-2. She then beat Katie Wettick of Haverford 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the finals.

Hopkins returns to action the weekend of Sept. 27-29 at the ITA Southeast Regional hosted by Mary Washington.
