TOWSON, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's tennis team competed at the Towson Tiger Invitational last weekend against Division I opponents from Towson, Morgan State and George Mason.

Junior Anita Bhamidipati (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) won her only singles match of the weekend, beating Caitlin White of Towson in three sets. Freshman Courtney Boger (Doylestown, PA) won her match against Alicia Van Zandt of George Mason in straight sets. Also winning in straight sets were sophomore Abby Dwyer (Stuart, FL/Jensen Beach) and freshmen Elizabeth Duval (Santa Monica, CA/Marlborough) and Mallory Willenborg (Miami Shores, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas).

In doubles action, junior Ellen Berlinghof (Dresher, PA/Upper Dublin) and Boger beat Sydnee Collins and F. Ferdinand of Morgan State in straight sets. Senior Brittany Matava (Denver, CO/Littleton) and sophomore Yasmine Elamir (Saddle River, NJ/Heritage Academy (SC)) won in straight sets over Evelyn Izaguirre and Beth Daub of Towson.

Hopkins returns to action the weekend of Sept. 19-21 at the Centennial Conference Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall.
