CARY, NC - Sophomore Hailey Hogan and junior Nandita Krishnan became the first doubles pair in program history to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals on Thursday with a straight sets win in the opening round. The duo also earns All-America honors for the second straight year with the win.

Hogan opened the day in the NCAA Singles draw, facing off against a familiar opponent in Chicago's Kendra Higgins. The two met on Monday in the quarterfinals of the team championship. The second time wasn't the charm for Hogan unfortunately, as she lost 6-2, 6-1 to two-time All-American. The day ended on a high note for Hogan, however as she paired with Krishnan in the doubles draw. The duo took on Sarah Short and Alex Marcell of Denison, the second-ranked doubles pair in the Central region. Hogan and Krishnan won 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals. The pair, which finished last season ranked eighth in the nation, is the first doubles duo in program history to earn multiple All-America honors.

Hogan and Krishnan will meet Alexandra Scotten and Lauren Wade of UC Santa Cruz in Friday's quarterfinal. The match is scheduled to start no earlier than 3:30 pm at the Cary Tennis Center.
