The Blue Jay women's tennis team won its fourth straight match by shutting out Bryn Mawr, 9-0, Friday afternoon.
Hopkins improved to 6-2 overall and 6-1 in the Centennial Conference, while the Owls fell to 4-11 overall and 2-5 in league play.
Junior Michelle Liang (Rochester, NY/Brighton) and senior Cara Loeys (Surrey, England/American Community School) defeated Bertina Hu and Jessie Tarlov 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, while sophomore Amanda Leese (Amherst, NH/Bishop Guertin) and freshman Priya Puri (Wayzata, MN/The Blake School) topped Jen Mansh and Cara Petonic 8-2 at No. 2. Freshman Meghan Hasenauer (Weston, CT/Greens Farms Academy) and sophomore Jill Seidman (Arlington Heights, IL/Buffalo Grove) posted an 8-1 victory over Ioana Butoi and Laura Proctor at No. 3 doubles for the Blue Jays.
Liang defeated Mansh 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Leese posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Hu at No. 2. Puri knocked off Tarlov 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3, while Loeys topped Petonic 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. Hasenauer defeated Butoi 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, while senior Liz Crowe (Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Basma Albakree at No. 6 singles.
The Blue Jays host McDaniel Monday at 3:30 p.m.
