Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's tennis team won two doubles points and five singles points to defeat Gettysburg, 7-2, Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.

Hopkins improved to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference, while the Bullets fell to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in league play.

Sophomore Amanda Leese (Amherst, NH/Bishop Guertin) and freshman Priya Puri (Wayzata, MN/The Blake School) defeated Toby Wallace and Sarah Kalauskal 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, while freshman Meghan Hasenauer (Weston, CT/Greens Farms Academy) and sophomore Jill Seidman (Arlington Heights, IL/Buffalo Grove) topped Caroline Kunkel and Katie Ferraro 8-5 at No. 3 for the Blue Jays. Gettysburg took the No. 1 doubles point as Tracy Rogers and Sarah Marian Seibert defeated junior Michelle Liang (Rochester, NY/Brighton) and senior Cara Loeys (Surrey, England/American Community School) 9-8 (9).

Leese needed a third set tiebreaker to defeat Seibert 6-3, 5-7 (10-6) at No. 2 singles, while freshman Becky Busch (Winnetka, IL/New Trier Township) topped Tara Slade 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. Puri narrowly defeated Carrie Hemphill 7-6 (5), 7-5 at No. 4, Loeys posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Kunkel at No. 5 and Hasenauer knocked off Wallace 8-1 in a pro set at No. 6. Rogers earned the No. 1 singles point for the Bullets by defeating Liang 6-3, 6-0.

The Blue Jays travel to Ursinus Monday at 3 p.m.
