Cowan swam to a trio of top-two finishes in Hopkins’ season-opener at William & Mary on Saturday. She opened with a win in the 200 Free, beating the field by 3.02 seconds to win in 1:52.29. Cowan then finished second in the 500 Free with a time of 5:02.39, missing first by just 0.19 seconds. She ended the day as a member of the second-place 400 Free Relay team that finished in 3:32.58.
Fabian also had three top-two finishes in his first meet for the Blue Jays. The transfer from Virginia Tech won the 200 Free in 1:41.49, as he beat the field by 2.21 seconds. He followed that with a second-place finish in the 100 Free in 46.63 and the 400 Free Relay (3:08.94).
Hopkins is back in action on Friday, October 20 against Navy and Towson in Annapolis, MD.
