BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins senior Gwynnie LaMastra has been named the CollegeSwimming National Division III Women’s Swimmer of the Week after her performance in the season-opener at William & Mary on October 7.
LaMastra opened the season with a second-place finish on the 200 Medley Relay team, which clocked in at 1:46.64. She then won the 100 Breast with a time of 1:05.65, beating the field by 1.34 seconds. In her final swim of the day, LaMastra won the 200 Breast by 3.31 seconds. She touched the wall in 2:21.60, an NCAA provisional time.
Hopkins is back in action on Friday, October 20 against Navy and Towson in Annapolis, MD.
