BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins University women's swimming team has been honored for its work in the classroom. The Blue Jays have earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for both the fall and spring semesters. JHU posted a team GPA of 3.07 in the fall and 3.43 for the spring.
In addition, junior Lisa Qu (Atlanta, GA/Westminster) and freshman Elizabeth Rogers (North Palm Beach, FL/Suncoast) were named Scholar All-Americans. While freshmen Heidi Culver (Lakewood, CO/Green Mountain) and Meaghan Bresnahan (Lighthouse Point, FL/Cardinal Gibbons) were named Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans by the CSCAA.
To qualify, as a Scholar All-American, a student-athlete must have completed at least the equivalent of 12 semester hours per term, must qualify to participate at the NCAA, NAIA or JC Swimming and Diving Championships and must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible: a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale, a semester/quarter GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale or a school year GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale.
To qualify as an Honorable Mention Scholar All-American, a student-athlete must have completed at least the equivalent of 12 semester hours per term, must achieve the equivalent of a "B" time standard for the NCAA Championship and must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible: a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale, a semester/quarter GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale or a school year GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale.
