Bostrom and Petersen Honored by CollegeSwimming.Com

BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins junior Erik Bostrom and sophomore Kiki Petersen have been honored by for their performances in the Blue Jays’ double dual meet versus Denison and host Carnegie Mellon on Saturday. The Blue Jay men beat the Tartans (188.5-105.5) and lost to the Big Red (192.5-87.5). On the women’s side, Hopkins defeated Carnegie Mellon (171-122) and fell to Denison (183-111).

Bostrom opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 1000 Free as he touched in 9:44.96. He then grabbed second in the 500 Free with a time of 4:39.96. Petersen earned a pair of first-place finishes to go with a runner-up finish. She anchored the 200 Medley Relay team to a second-place finish in 1:46.03. Her split of 23.52 was the fastest anchor leg, by nearly four-tenths of a second. Petersen then cruised to a win in the 50 Free as she clocked in at 23.88, beating the field by 0.55 seconds. She wrapped up her day with a win in the 100 Free as she touched in 52.21 to win by nearly a second (0.95).
