Johns Hopkins Takes 10th at 2009 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The Johns Hopkins women's swim team finished in 10th place at the 2009 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with 105 total points. The Blue Jays finish in the top 10 for the 14th time in school history. Hopkins swam just one final on the day, taking 13th in the 400 Free Relay in the final event of the day. Freshman Annie Tsay (Sacramento, CA/Mira Loma), sophomore Michele Palopoli (Gwynedd Valley, PA/Germantown Academy) and freshmen Khristine Ghemigian (Oak Park, CA/Oak Park) and Elizabeth Rogers (North Palm Beach, FL/Suncoast) clocked in at 3:30.21. The time is the second fastest in program history. In the prelims, Tsay swam the opening leg of the relay in 52.03, breaking Rogers' school record of 52.50 set earlier in the day in the 100 Free prelim. Wrapping up their careers are seniors Sarah Andryauskas (Lexington, MA/Lexington/Gettysburg), Elissa Stautner (Conroe, TX/Oak Ridge) and Megan Zepp (Montgomery Village, MD/Stone Ridge). Andryauskas transferred to Hopkins after three seasons at Gettysburg. She earned All-America honors in the 100 Fly in 2008 with the Bullets. She added to that this season, earning All-America honors three times. Stautner finishes her career having earned All-America honors five times. Zepp concludes her career with two All-America honors.
