LANCASTER, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team had five players named to the All-Centennial Conference teams. Junior Jessica Hnatiuk (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll School) was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year. She is the third Blue Jay to be Player of the Year. Hopkins' total number of All-Centennial selections is 91. Five Blue Jays also were named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, giving Hopkins 26 total.

Hnatiuk, a defender, is joined on the first team by junior defender Jenn Paulucci (Manalapan, NJ/Freehold Boro) and senior goalkeeper Karen Guszkowski (Sayreville, NJ/Cardinal McCarrick). The three Blue Jays combined to allow only seven goals in 19 games this season and posted a total of 14 shutouts. Hnatiuk also had four goals and an assist on the offensive side while Paulucci had an assist as well. Paulucci has been named to the first team in all three of her years at Hopkins. She is just the sixth Hopkins player to be named to the first team three times. Paulucci was also named to the Academic Honor Roll with a cumulative GPA of 3.96.

Guszkowski has a goals-against-average of 0.44 and a save-percentage of .919. She has 7 complete game shutouts this season. Guszkowski was named to the second team in 2008.

Sophomore Erica Suter (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) was named to the second team and junior Erin Stafford (Doylestown, PA/Villa Joseph Marie) was an honorable mention. Suter leads the Blue Jays with 10 goals and 23 points on the season. She was a first team pick in 2008. Stafford leads Hopkins in assists with eight and has seven goals this year. Boasting a cumulative GPA of 3.42, Stafford was also named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Three other Blue Jays joined Paulucci and Stafford on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. Junior Sarah Gieszl (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier College Prep) has a cumulative GPA of 3.52. Gieszl was also named to the 2008 Academic Honor Roll. Sophomore Pam Kopfensteiner (Upper Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands) has a cumulative GPA of 3.70 and sophomore Kristen Redsun (Trabuco Canyon, CA/Santa Margarita) boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.45.
