Kronick Earns Sixth Conference Player of the Week Honor
Oct. 15, 2012
LANCASTER, PA - Sophomore Hannah Kronick has been named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after notching four goals against Haverford. This is the sixth career conference player of the week honor and second in two weeks for Kronick. Kronick's record breaking scoring pace continued against the Fords as she gave the Blue Jays a two-goal advantage in the 26th minute with a rocket into the upper 90s. She then notched three goals in a span of 13 minutes in the second half, scoring by way of a breakaway, a header and a tap-in from the six-yard box. The feat marked Kronick's second four-goal game and fifth hat trick of the season. The sophomore has 11 goals and 24 points (3.0/g) through six conference games in 2012. She needs only three more goals to break Sarah Parola's single-season goal record of 20 set in 1997. The Westfield, NJ native currently leads the Centennial Conference by a wide margin with 18 goals and 39 points. Additionally, Kronick ranks third in program history in points (87) and tied for third in goals (37) through just 35 career games. She averages a remarkable 2.5 points-per-game. The No. 17 Johns Hopkins women's soccer team (10-3-1, 5-1-0) returns to action in Carlisle, PA Wednesday night for a conference test against Dickinson at 7:00 pm. - 30 -
