LANCASTER, PA - Sophomore Sydney Teng has been named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring both goals in Johns Hopkins' 2-0 defeat of Swarthmore Sunday. This is the first career honor for Teng.

After a scoreless first half versus Swarthmore, Teng opened the scoring for the Blue Jays just 42 seconds in the second frame. The sophomore then doubled Hopkins' lead in the 63rd minute with a powerful left-footed shot from the top corner of the 18-yard box.

The Fairport, NY native missed three games in the middle of the season to injury, but has been an important piece in the Blue Jays' attack since her return two games ago. Teng has notched eight goals and three assists in 27 career games.

The No. 17 Johns Hopkins women's soccer team (7-2-1, 2-1) returns to action in Lancaster, PA Wednesday night against Franklin & Marshall. The Blue Jays are unbeaten in their last 17 matches against the Diplomats dating back to 1997.
