Johns Hopkins Earns Highest NSCAA Ranking In Program History

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team climbed two spots in this week’s NSCAA Division III Coaches Poll to No. 4, the best ranking in the program’s 18-year history. The Blue Jays opened their season with a 1-0 victory over then eighth-ranked Washington University. Hopkins then defeated now seventh-ranked Lynchburg, 1-0, to capture the JHU Invitational Championship. The Blue Jays own a 2-0-0 record thus far in 2009, and head coach Leo Weil currently has 211 career wins at Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays return to action on Wednesday, September 9 when they travel to Grantham, PA to face last year's national champion and this year's number one-ranked team, Messiah.
