Box Score

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team opened Centennial Conference play at home on Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Washington College. Head coach Leo Weil clinched his 196th career win at Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays improve to 5-0-2, while the Shorewomen fall to 0-6-0.

In the first half, junior Caitlin Moore (Landisville, PA/Hempfield) wasted little time, putting Hopkins on the board at 8:43, poking a shot into the far corner of the net off a pass from senior Molly Steele (Daleville, VA/North Cross). Steele got her chance again, scoring her first goal of the season at 18:07 off sophomore Allie Zazzali's (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) pass.

Zazzali continued the trend, scoring her second goal of the season at 38:18, following her assist on Steele's goal.

On a penalty kick at 55:48, freshman Ava Scheininger (Westfield, NJ/Morristown-Beard) scored her first career goal.

Washington goalkeeper Tori Ripple had eight saves for the Shorewomen.

Hopkins will continue its homestand on September 27, hosting Swarthmore at 1 p.m.
