GENEVA, NY - The fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team defeated Carnegie Mellon, 2-0, early Sunday afternoon. Hopkins improves to, 3-2, while CMU drops to, 1-3.

In the 43rd minute, senior Caitlin Moore (Landisville, PA) lofted a cross into the box and Ava Scheininger (Westfield, NJ) was able to head the ball past Carnegie Mellon's keeper. The Blue Jays struck again in the 51st when Sara Tankard (Clarksville, MD) scored from 10 yards out.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Redsun (Trabuco Canyon, CA) anchored the defense registering six saves, while recording her second career shutout.

Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, September 16 when Misericordia visits Homewood Field, the game is slated to begin at 7:00 pm.
