Box Score

The Johns Hopkins women’s soccer team blanked Salisbury, 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. Hopkins improves to 2-0 on the year, while Salisbury drops to 1-2.

Hopkins displayed a well-balanced attack for the second straight day as three different players put the ball in the back of the net. The Blue Jays wasted little time getting on the scoreboard against the Sea Gulls as junior Erica Suter notched her first goal of the season in the fourth minute off a pass from senior Sara Tankard.

Junior Sasha Reyes-Guerra added an unassisted goal just before halftime to give Hopkins a 2-0 lead. Senior Jessica Hnatiuk wrapped up the scoring for the Blue Jays in the 64th minute off another assist from Tankard.

The Blue Jays registered their second consecutive shutout, allowing only five shots and one corner to the Sea Gulls. Sophomore Meredith Maguire started in goal and recorded two saves on the day in just over 67 minutes of action. Freshmen Kelly Leddy closed out the game in net for the Blue Jays, making one save.

The Blue Jays return to action on Wednesday September 8 when they host two-time defending national champion Messiah at 7 pm.
