BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins junior defender Angela Hughes (Manchester, MD/North Carroll) has been named to the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-Mid-Atlantic Team. She earns first team honors, becoming the third defender to earn first team honors since the program moved to Division I in 1999.

Hughes, a two-time All-ALC pick and a member of the US Developmental Team, had an outstanding season for the Blue Jays in 2009. She posted career-highs in every statistical category, while leading Hopkins in caused turnovers (22) and ground balls (22). Hughes also contributed offensively, scoring 10 goals and adding three assists. She is adding her name to the Hopkins record book as well, as she ranks 20th in school Division I history in career draw controls (32) and tied for ninth in career caused turnovers (50).
