The Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse team received 178 points and jumped three spots to No. 9 in this week's IWLCA Poll released Monday.
The ranking is the highest since the program moved to Division I and marks the first time the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 10.
Hopkins, which is 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the American Lacrosse Conference, defeated Penn, 10-6, last Tuesday and posted a 12-11 victory over No. 9 Vanderbilt Sunday.
Senior Heidi Pearce (Chestertown, MD/St. Andrew's-DE) scored four goals and added an assist in the win over the Commodores, while freshman Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's of Annapolis) added two goals and three assists. Key also scored a game-high five goals in the victory over the Quakers last week.
Princeton received all 15 first-place votes and remained in the poll's top spot, followed by Georgetown, Notre Dame, Duke and Loyola. Virginia, Maryland, James Madison, Hopkins and Vanderbilt rounded out the top 10.
The Blue Jays host seventh-ranked Maryland Saturday at 1 p.m. at Homewood Field.
