CAPE COD, MA - A trio of Johns Hopkins field hockey players have earned All-Star honors from the ECAC as announced on Monday afternoon. Leading the way was senior Leah Horton (Wayne, PA/Upper Merion Area) who earned first team honors. Earning second team honors were seniors Emily Miller (Garden City, NY/Garden City) and Adair Landy (Montclair, NJ/Montclair).
Horton, a two-time NFHCA All-American and four-time All-Centennial Conference selection, earns All-ECAC honors for the first time in her career. She made the move from midfield to defense in the offseason and racked up a career-high seven goals, 10 assists and 24 points. Horton concluded her career as the program's all-time assists leader with 31. She also ranks in the 10 in school history in career goals (T-9th/26) and points (5th/83).
Miller is also a first time ECAC All-Star after earning All-Centennial and NFHCA All-Region honors the last three seasons. A 2006 All-American, she rewrote the Hopkins record book. She finished her career as the program's single-season and career leader in goals and points. In four seasons, she tallied 58 goals, 19 assists and 135 points. In her final season, Miller tallied a record 23 goals and 50 points.
Landy also earns All-ECAC honors for the first time. She earned All-America honors for the second straight season in 2008 after scoring seven goals and adding six assists from her midfield position. A four-time All-Centennial and three-time all-region pick, Landy is just the 11th player in conference history to earn First Team honors three times. She graduates with 36 goals, 24 assists and 96 points to her credit. She ranks third in career points, tied for fourth in career goals and third in career assists.
The trio led Hopkins to a 16-5 record, a runner-up finish in the Centennial Conference and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2008. The Blue Jays won 11 straight games to open the season and were ranked as high as third in the nation by the NFHCA.
