Bracketology... The Johns Hopkins field hockey team is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003. Hopkins, which earned an at-large bid out of the Centennial Conference, will hit the road to take on Juniata in the first round.

Series History... This will be the 10th meeting between Johns Hopkins and Juniata, but the first since 2003. The Blue Jays lead the all-time series 7-0-2. This will be the first postseason meeting between Hopkins and Juniata.

How They Got Here... Hopkins received an at-large bid after posting a 14-5 record and advancing to the finals of the Centennial Conference Tournament. Juniata also earned an at-large bid. The Eagles earned their third appearance in the NCAA tournament on the strength of a 19-2 overall record and Landmark Conference championship.

Hopkins in the Big Dance... Hopkins is making its seventh overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2003. The Blue Jays are 2-6 in the Big Dance and have advanced as far as the quarterfinals (1999). In Hopkins last NCAA trip in 2003, the Blue Jays defeated Wesley 5-1 at home. In the Sweet 16, Hopkins fell to The College of New Jersey 4-0.

I'm Honored... Five Hopkins field hockey players earned All--Centennial honors Tuesday, as announced by the conference office. Juniors Adair Landy and Leah Horton and sophomore Sophia Tieu were named to the first team. Senior Lucy Webster and junior Emily Miller were named to the second team. Landy was a unanimous selection to the first team. In addition, Tieu is the first goalie for Hopkins to earn all-conference honors since 2001. Horton, along with graduate student Leah Dudley, junior Meghan Marshall, and sophomores Brittany Bland, Catie Farrow, Meaghan Malloy, Chantal Serle and Andrea Vandersall were all named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Strength of Schedule... Head coach Megan Callahn Fraser put together one of the toughest schedules in the country for the Blue Jays. In fact, heading into NCAA Tournament, Hopkins schedule is rated the 10th strongest in all of Division III. Seven of the Blue Jays' 18 opponents this season, including Juniata, were ranked in the top-20 nationally at game time.

All five of Hopkins' losses this season came to teams ranked in the top eight. In addition, the five teams that the Blue Jays lost to in 2007 all made the NCAA Tournament and have a combined record of 68-7.

Simply the Best... Head coach Megan Callahan Fraser is the winningest coach in Johns Hopkins and Centennial Conference history. She enters Wednesday's game with an overall record of 134-85 (.612), including a Centennial record of 73-31 (.702).

Home Sweet Home... Johns Hopkins is 78-27 at historic Homewood Field under head coach Megan Callahan Fraser. The Blue Jays are 113-48-11 (.689) all-time at Homewood.

Climbing the Charts... Juniors Emily Miller, Adair Landy and Leah Horton are making their move up the Hopkins career lists. Miller now ranks third in school history with 85 career points. She is just six points shy of tying Ashley Robbins `01 for second all-time. Miller also ranks fourth in career goals (35). Landy ranks fifth all-time in points (76), tied for sixth in goals (29) and tied for seventh in assists (18). Horton ranks second all-time with 21 assists. She is eight shy of tying Amy Bruschi `00 for the Hopkins career record.

300 and Counting... Hopkins now has 300 wins all-time, ranking just second in conference history in wins behind Gettysburg.

Around the Centennial... Junior Emily Miller ranks fifth in the Centennial in points (35) and tied for fourth ingoals (15). Junior Leah Horton is tied for fifth in the conference with nine assists. Sophomore Sophia Tieu is ranked second in the conference in goals against average (1.56) and sixth in save percentage (.738). Tieu also ranks tied for second in the conference with two shutouts.

Golden Touch... Junior Adair Landy leads the Blue Jays with five game-winning goals, while junior Emily Miller has four.

Happy Anniversary... The Johns Hopkins field hockey team will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Homewood Field in 2007. The historic facility played host to its first game in 1907.

To celebrate, the team has added a commemorative patch to its home uniforms for the 2007 season. The Johns Hopkins men's and women's lacrosse teams wore the patch commemorating the 100th anniversary of Homewood Field last spring, while the football and men's and women's soccer teams will also wear them this fall.
