Final Stats

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - Johns Hopkins scored two goals in the second half to defeat Muhlenberg 2-1 in the Centennial Conference Semifinals Saturday in Collegeville, PA. The Blue Jays improve to 14-4 on the season as they will play in their sixth Centennial Conference title game on Sunday.

Muhlenberg took a 1-0 lead into the break, scoring on a penalty corner with time expired. Kristen Sabia scored off a pass from Nicki Notarianni on the corner. Hopkins answered back early in the second half, knotting the score at 1-1. Sophomore Gabi Henn (Lambertville, NJ/South Hunterdon Regional) knocked home a pass from junior Leah Horton (Wayne, PA/Upper Merion Area) just 3:56 in for her 11th of the season.

Horton then gave Hopkins the lead with just over 10 minutes to play, converting her second penalty stroke of the season at 59:28. That would be all the Blue Jays would need to take the win. Horton now has 20 career assists, ranking tied for second in program history.

Sophomore goalie Sophia Tieu (Cupertino, CA/Cupertino) finished with no saves in earning the win, while the Mules Michelle Consiglio finished with five saves in the loss. Hopkins outshot Muhlenberg 9-2 in the game.

Hopkins will now face top-seeded Urinsus for the Centennial Conference title on Sunday at 1:00 pm in Collegeville. The Blue Jays are seeking their fifth Centennial title (1993, 1999, 2000, 2003) and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
