Junior Christina Giblin (Toronto, Canada/Phillips Exeter Academy) placed 13th in the foil to lead the Johns Hopkins women's fencing team at the Garret Penn State Open Sunday in the Mary Beaver White Building.
Freshman Liz Ordun (Montgomery, NJ/Montgomery) finished in a tie for 30th in the foil, while You-Shan Feng tied for 32nd. Freshman Julia Lawrence (Rye, NY/Rye Country Day School) came in 43rd for the Blue Jays.
Junior Georgiana Lee (Bakersfield, CA/Stockdale) led Hopkins in the epee with a 16th place finish, while sophomore Caroline Grey (Tiburon, CA/San Francisco University) finished in a tie for 18th. Phuong Tran was 43rd in the epee for JHU.
Senior Allison Barker (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) placed a team-best 12th in the sabre, while Angel Tao finished 30th.
The Blue Jays return to action on December 7 when they travel to Madison, NJ, for the NIWFA Christmas Tournament on the campus of Drew University.
