Johns Hopkins finished in 21st place out of 24 teams in the NCAA Fencing Championships held last weekend on the campus of Drew University.
The Blue Jays' 21st place finish tied for the highest Hopkins has finished in the championships in the last 11 years. The 2001 teams also finished in the 21st spot.
Senior Sarah Walsh (Fitchburg, MA/St. Bernard's) led the Blue Jays by winning eight duals in the sabre to finish in 17th place.
On the men's side, sophomore Matt Bouloubasis (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) won five duals to finish in 22nd place in the epee, while freshman Brian Bishe' (Glen Ridge, NJ/Montclair Kimberley Academy) had five wins in the foil and finished in 24th place.
Hopkins has now had at least one fencer participate in the last five NCAA Championships.
