Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's fencing team bounced back from a 17-10 loss to host Temple to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson, 19-8, and Stevens Tech, 17-10, Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Kate Dunne (Beacon, NY/Beacon) and freshman Sarah Smilow (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) each went 7-2 to lead Hopkins in the sabre, while sophomore Ann Kim (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) finished 6-3 on the day.

Sophomore Liz Ordun (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) paced the Blue Jay foil squad with a 7-2 mark, while senior Christina Giblin (Toronto, Canada/Phillips Exeter Academy) finished 6-2. Senior Susan Park (Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven) went 3-5, freshman Joanna Kochaniak (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) went 1-0, and freshman Samantha Wang (Fremont, CA/Lynbrook) lost her only bout of the day.

Senior Georgiana Lee (Bakersfield, CA/Stockdale) went 5-4 in the epee for Hopkins, while sophomore Cathy Gallagher (Lexington Park, MD/Great Mills) and freshman Catherine Chen (Cupertino, CA/Monta Vista) each finished the day 2-7.

The Blue Jays, who improved their record to 8-2 this season, will compete in the Duke Invitational this Friday and Saturday in Durham, NC.
