Johns Hopkins 2002 women's crew members Sharon Betz, Nancy Tulathimutte, and J. Dawn Waters were named to the 2002 USRowing Collegiate Honor Roll First Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
Betz (Bedford, MA/Bedford) is currently a senior at Hopkins, while Waters (Sugarland, TX/Calhoun) and Tulathimutte (South Hadley, MA/MacDuffie School) graduated in May 2001. Betz and Waters were also named to the honor roll last year.
The honor roll, which consists of just nine women's rowers this year, recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in both academics and rowing, as well as participated in extra curricular activities. Applicants must be USRowing members, have rowed or coxed in a men's or women's priority open or lightweight boat that raced at a league championship, have completed four semesters or six quarters of academic work, and have earned a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
