LORTON, VA - The Johns Hopkins women's crew team opened the 2006-07 season at the Occoquan Chase Regatta in Lorton, VA this weekend. Hopkins next competes at the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA October 21-22.
The women opened with a second-place finish in the Novice 8 with a time of 19:33.0290. In the boat for the Novice 8 were Meg Hindle (cox), Madi West, Allison Carlstrom, Michelle Lai, Erica Jantho, Nicole Lake, Courtney Cunningham, Allie Hernandez and Jenna Rossoff. The open four saw Helena Cortes (cox), Allison Hoy, Michelle Zacharias, Becca Kramer and Vanessa Damm finish seventh of 13. They finished with a time of 19:45.4090.
