Johns Hopkins Was Picked Fourth in the Preseason Centennial Coaches Poll.

LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins women’s basketball team has been picked fourth in the Centennial Conference Preseason Poll which was voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors it was announced today.

Defending champion Muhlenberg topped the poll, earning nine first-place votes and 185 points overall. Haverford came in second, five points behind Muhlenberg with 180 points and eight first-place votes. Gettysburg earned the remaining five first-place votes to finish third with 178 points while Hopkins finished fourth with 142 total points. Dickinson rounded out the top five with 112 points.

The Blue Jays finished last season with a 13-12 record and a 12-8 mark in conference play, making it to the Centennial Conference Tournament for the 19th time. This season will be the first for Hopkins under new head coach Katherine Bixby, who took over for Nancy Funk who retired after 31 seasons. Johns Hopkins will open the 2017-18 season on the road against Messiah on November 15 at 6 pm. JHU will make its home debut on Saturday, November 18 at 2 pm as the Blue Jays will host Lynchburg in the Mike Durgala Tournament.
